Villa Bayard is a beautiful Villa in the Walloon Jekerdal valley a stone's throw from Maastricht where you can stay overnight, have lunch or dinner in comfort. You can also enjoy our delicious home-made organic wines because since 2017 a new dream of ours has become a reality.
We have 3800 vines planted on our property. These are immediately behind the Villa on our beautiful south-facing slope.
The soil of this slope contains the famous marl stone that provides a fantastic "terroir" for our wines.
A beautiful vineyard has emerged. And we are very proud of it!

Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Johanniter.
"It is a sunny day in September 2008 when we open the door of the stately mansion 'Villa Bayard' in the Walloon Jeker village of Eben-Emael for the first time. In the hall it seems as if time has stood still. Three generations of the noble Liege family Melotte have lived here for at least a century and a half! We immediately love the unique atmosphere in the beautiful house with its rich history and beautiful antique elements.
Then, for almost two years, we put all our energy into a thorough renovation. The villa, the outbuildings and the land are given a new function.
Yet the old soul of Villa Bayard with its beautiful history has been preserved and you can once again enjoy everything this beautiful estate has to offer. Villa Bayard means a lot to us: we can realise our dreams here. That makes us happy people and that is actually the most important thing for us".
